Faith Mountain Church Salvation

Why do we need to be SAVED?

The Big Crime: God has spiritual laws set in place (the 10 commandments), much in the same way we have civil laws in place. Now God will not violate those laws for anyone because He is full of integrity and honor; He is not a liar. For example, in civil law, if you had been clocked going 50 miles per hour through a blind children’s convention, passing 10 warning signs stating clearly that 15 MPH was the maximum speed you could go, you would be in big trouble. When you were arrested and brought before the judge, you found there was a $50,000 fine you must pay. If you did not have any way to pay such a fine, you would be sentenced to jail. As the judge was about to pronounce sentence, a man you don’t even know came bursting into the courtroom, stopping the judgement, and pays your fine. The law has now been satisfied. Because someone paid your fine - one in which you had no way to pay - you are free and clear of your crime.

But officer, I didn’t know: Like it or not, we have all violated God’s laws. They are not unreasonable, nor were they given to bind us. Instead, they were given by a loving God to warn us of what sin is. For example, here are just 3 of the ten commandments: Do not lie: when you lie, no matter how small of a lie, or for what reasons you lie, God sees you as a liar at heart. Do not take the Lord’s name in vain: When you use His name as a cuss word, you have taken the name of the God of all creation and brought it down to express disgust or anger for something. He sees you as a blasphemer. If you look at someone to lust after them, you have committed adultery with them in your heart: When you look at another person to lust after them (and what red-blooded American hasn’t done that?), God sees you as an adulterer at heart. These are but 3 of the 10 commandments - 10 warning sings - God has put in place. We’ve all broken them. We’re all guilty. When you die, you and everyone else will face the final Judge, God Himself. Because He is just and cannot go back on His law, He will have no other choice but to sentence you to Hell...forever.

Free from the law: However, He loves you! He wishes that NONE should perish. He DID make ONE way for you and I to get to heaven: He paid the fine that no one can pay: Jesus died in your place so you wouldn’t have to. Jesus went to Hell in your place so you wouldn’t have to. He’s the one that paid the fine! Then He rose from the dead to offer you ever-lasting life. That’s great news. He loves you so much! So, how do you receive it?

What do I have to do, then?: Salvation is a gift. It is made available to anyone who will repent of their sins (ask for forgiveness of them and turn away from them), then believe and confess out-loud that Jesus is Lord, and that He died and rose from the dead to save mankind (Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10). This gift cannot be earned through good deeds or by simply being "good" (Ephesians 2:8; 1 Timothy 1:9), for none of us are; we have ALL sinned, breaking God’s law. So, it is a matter of faith (acting out on what you believe according to God's Word concerning salvation). There is no other way to get to heaven, or to know God (John 14:6).
It is also a matter of giving your entire life over to God. The Bible says to consider the cost before you leap in, just as a builder counts the cost before he builds so he can build his house in its entirety. Salvation is not a haphazard decision where one says, “Well, let’s see what happens.” as if to say, “If I don’t like the food here, there’s always leftovers in my fridge.” By receiving salvation from God by faith, you are entering into son-ship with God Almighty, becoming a co-heir with Jesus Himself. This is no small decision. Yes, it’s the best thing that could ever happen to a person, but there’s no going backwards from there. This is a decision you make, not with your head, but with your entire life. The purposeful act of your decision will enact God’s very power to come upon you, making you a righteous, free, overcoming son of God. If you are ready, read the next section below. If you are not, then read the book of John. You’ll know what to do from there.

Prayer For Salvation

Jesus, Your Word says, "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21). You said in Romans 10:9-10, "If you will confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’, and will believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved." I do that now. I turn from my old life of sin and I confess that Jesus is Lord of my life, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. I’ve counted the cost, and there’s nothing more valuable to me than You. With God Almighty as my helper, I will serve you all the days of my life. Amen!

If you just prayed this prayer, you ARE born-again. Please let us know by clicking here. We will begin praying for you and the new life you just received!mailto:info@faithmountainaz.com?subject=I%20just%20prayed%20for%20salvation!shapeimage_2_link_0

If you prayed for Salvation:

You just made the God of the universe Lord over your life, and God has cleansed you of all your past sins, making you what He calls a new creation, and His son.

You have just taken God at His Word, and therefore He has performed a miracle in your heart and joined His Spirit to your spirit, causing your spirit to be reborn in His very image. That’s the born-again process.

Now what can you expect? You can keep expecting God to perform His Word every time you believe and act on it, like you just did. What needs do you have right now? Jesus did a complete work on the cross - taking all your sicknesses and diseases, becoming poor so you could be rich. He even went so far as to bear all your burdens - past, present and future.

As you learn more about what God has done for you, remember that all your answers are in the Word of God (the Bible).

Instructions for a new life:

Follow these next 3 steps. When you do, it will save you some pain:

1.  Find a church:  God said He has

raised up Pastors according to His

heart to shepherd His flock (us). Ask

God to show you what church He

wants you to attend.  This is very

important. Start by clicking above on

     “Find a Church”.

2.  Read your Bible every day and do

what you read. God will never let

you down. A good place to start is

in the book of John in the New

     Testament.

3.  Subscribe to KCM’s “Faith to Faith”

daily devotional to be sent right to

your e-mail. This will help you grow

and mature quickly in your faith.
